Our research team presented part of their research in the Development Research Conference, 21-23 October 2024, held in Lund, Sweden.
DevRes is a bi-annual conference gathering Swedish development and sustainability researchers from different academic disciplines to exchange ideas and network as well as promote collaboration with practitioners, organizations and policy makers.

Maryam Nastar, Associate Professor in Sustainability Science, Lund University & Frederick Ato Armah, Professor of Environmental and Sustainability Science, University of Cape Coast, presented their work on the potential impacts of the heat-related adaptation policies and initiatives in Accra, Ghana in DevRes 2024 in Lund, Sweden. In a well-attended session, they shared the initial findings of the current responses to extreme urban heat, and highlighted the potential cases of maladaptation. This work provides a ground for the next phase of the project, to be conducted by Dr. Amanda Odoi, where she will be collecting and analyzing data regarding the experiences of heat adaptation on the ground across various neighborhoods in Accra.
